Art Deco 11.96 Carat Ceylon Cabochon Sapphire & Diamond Ring, circa 1935

A fine and important vintage sapphire and diamond ring. The sapphire in the centre - certified as natural, unheated and originating from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) - weighs an impressive 11.96 carat and displays a distinct colour change: blue in daylight, purple in incandescent light. The stone is rubover set in platinum and surrounded by 39 eight-cut diamonds. Decorative scroll work in the gallery leads to a slender platinum shank.

Currently size M 1/2 (UK) or 6 1/4 (US). Free sizing available.

Accompanied by a report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
