Mid Century 7.90 Carat Ceylon Sapphire Ring, circa 1950

An extraordinary vintage sapphire ring. The sapphire in the centre - certified as natural, unheated and originating from Ceylon (Sir Lanka) - displays a bright and vivid blue. The stones is rubover set in yellow gold, and sits within between bold, almost architectural shoulders set with eight (four each side) transitional cut diamonds in platinum, to a wide and flat 18k yellow gold shank. A substantial, serious, and impressive mid century ring.

Accompanied by a report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
