Mid Century Sapphire Necklace, French, circa 1960

A beautifully made vintage necklace which manages to be both wonderfully opulent and utterly wearable. Comprised of seven triangular panels which graduate in size towards the largest one at the bottom, but which are otherwise identical: each featuring fine milgrained gold wire-working and beading. Each of the panels is inter-spaced with a deep blue sapphire (again, of graduating sizes) in milgrained rubover settings. With fancy links to the rear and secured with a round bolt-ring
